Croydon Pet Hospital Clinic
Here we are! We are located at 5 Dorset Road, Croydon, 3136. We can be found on the corner of Dorset Road and Bellara Drive where Dorset Road meets Maroondah Hwy.
Clinic Reception
Welcome to our clinic reception area, this is the heart of the clinic and is usually where all the action is! This is where you will be greeted when you visit the clinic, and is also where our nurses will answer your very important calls. Here we make bookings, provide advice on many different issues and provide triage to unwell animals.
Clinic Merchandise
Here are our over the counter products available to clients, we have a wide range of paracitides (Frontline, Revolution, Advantage, Interceptor, Sentinel, Milbemax, Drontal), specialised pet shampoos and conditioners, pet sunscreen, joint formula's, pet dental products and much more. Please speak with our experienced veterinary nurses regarding your pet and what product would best suit your pets needs.
Consult Room 1 & 2
Our consult rooms are used by the veterinarians to examine your pets. Here we can assess your pets general health condition and perform inhouse diagnostic tests and other various minor procedures. Here we examine your pets weight, body condition, skin, ears, eyes, mouth and teeth. We can also see your pet for behavioural problems or other conditons that might be concerning you. Consults run by appointment only, however emergencies will be seen as priority. If there is anything else you would like to discuss regarding your pets healthcare, please feel free to discuss this with the vet at the time of consultation.
Consult Room 2
Pathology
Here we perform inhouse diagnostic tests to help us determine what is wrong with your pet and also provide us with a general health profile of your pet. We perform routine blood tests, ear smears, urinalysis, skin scrapings and other basic inhouse tests. This gives us the chance to find out what is going on with your pet a lot faster than if we were to send off the same tests to be performed at the lab.
Radiology
This is where we take, process and interpret xrays, very similarly to that of human radiology. This gives the vet an instant picture of what is going on inside your animal and can help us to better diagnose your animals condition or illness. Your pet may or may not require sedation or a full anaesthetic for taking Xrays.
Surgery/Preparation Area
In the surgery/preparation area, we can perform many different tasks, including; clipping and scrubbing animals in preparation for surgery, groomings, dentals, emergency treatment, assessing the inhouse hospital patients and perform minor (non invasive) surgical procedures. The animals having invasive or sterile surgical procedures are clipped up and prepped in this area before being transferred to theatre.
Theatre
Theatre is where all sterile surgical procedures are completed. From routine desexings to more complex procedures such as orthapaedics and laparotomy/exploratories. We aim to provide only the best conditions for your pet, especially when their health may be compromised. Thinking of your pet having an anaesthetic may seem scary, but you should feel at ease to know that one of our experienced veterinary nurses will be monitoring your pet at all times and acting as their personal anaesthetist. They are constantly watching and recording your pets vital signs and monitoring their anaesthetic depth. We have the latest equipment in our theatre helping our nurses control, monitor and take the very best possible care of your pet whilst our wonderful vets perform surgery.
Hospital/Kennel Room
Here is where our very important patients stay when they are in hospital or in for surgery. Cats are kept together at one end of the ward and dogs at the other, to provide minimal amount of stress for both the patients and staff! We also have a caged isolation area for contagious/viral patients. The kennel ward is kept immaculately clean and disinfected serveral times daily. We pride ourselves on patient comfort and aim to keep your furry family members comfy at all times!
